July 2013 Meeting Minutes

THERE WERE 22 COACHES INCLUDING 3 OFFICERS IN ATTENDANCE PLUS GARY BROWN AND CHAD MURPHY FROM USBC FOR A TOTAL OF 24

MIKE KUBACKI PRESIDENT WELCOMED THOSE IN ATTENDANCE AND INTRODUCED THE OFFICERS WHO ARE JJ MASTNEY VICE PRESIDENT AND DALE LEHMAN SECRETARY

THE MINUTES FROM THE LAST MEETING WERE PASSED OUT, AND A MOTION WAS BROUGHT FROM CHARLES CAIN TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES AS WRITTEN, SECONDED BY RON DAMRON, ALL WERE IN FAVOR.

MIKE KUBACKI LEAD DISCUSSION OF THE RECRUITING POLICY RULES AND A SEPTEMBER 1ST DEADLINE WAS SET FOR NEW COACHES TO SIGN THE RECRUITING POLICY RULES SHEET

THERE WAS DISCUSSION REGARDING WHO HAD EXTENSIVE KNOWLEDGE OF THE NAIA POLICYS AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT CHAD HARDIN FROM MARIAN, RON DAMRON FROM PIKEVILLE AND BRIAN SWANSON FROM ASHFORD HAD THE MOST EXPERIENCE

MIKE REQUESTED THAT THE WHAC AND THE MID SOUTH CONFERENCES SUBMIT IN DETAIL HOW THEIR CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS WOULD BE DETERMINED

JJ DISCUSSED OUR WEBSITE UPDATES AND ASKED FOR LINKS FROM SCHOOLS IF THEY WOULD LIKE THEIR BOWLING WEB PAGES TO BE LISTED

MIKE LEAD DISCUSSION OF THE TOURNAMENT DATES FOR THE NAIA INVITATIONAL WHICH ARE MARCH 28, 29 AND 30 2014, DISCUSSED THE SCHEDULE, AND STATED THAT QUALIFYING WOULD BE ON FRIDAY AND MATCH PLAY WOULD START ON SATURDAY DEPENDING ON CENTER AVAILABILITY

THE ALL TOURNAMENT TEAM SELECTION PROCCESS WAS DISCUSSED AND STARTING THIS YEAR EACH MATCH PLAY RECAP WILL HAVE A SPOT FOR THE OPPOSING COACH TO SELECT AN MVP FROM THE OPPOSING TEAM FOR EACH MATCH 
BID PACKAGES FOR THE TOURNAMENT WERE DISCUSSED AND HANDED OUT. TAKING BID PACKAGES WERE CHRIS UFFMAN, DEL WARREN, CHAD HARDIN, CHARLES CAIN, LARRY SEACREST, BRIAN SWANSON, AND JON DAVIS
THERE WAS DISCUSSION REGARDING WHEN WE THOUGHT WE WOULD GET TO 50 SCHOOLS WITH VARSITY PROGRAMS AND DISCUSSION REGARDING HOW THE NAIA WILL ADDRESS OUR CONCERNS REGARDING SMART MONEY, ELIGIBILITY, CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS, RANKINGS, RELEASES AND TRANSFERS, RECRUITING RULES, WOULD USBC BE THE GOVERNING BODY, DATES OF COMPETITION, AMATEURISM, YOUTH BOWLING, AND WOULD THE TOURNAMENT HOST GET AN AUTOMATIC BID
WE DISCUSSED THAT WHOEVER SECURED THE BID WOULD BE THE TOURNAMENT HOST, AND JJ BROUGHT A MOTION THAT THERE WOULD BE NO AUTOMATIC BID FOR THE TOURNAMENT HOST, IT WAS SECONDED BY LARRY SEACREST, ALL WERE IN FAVOR

CHAD MURPHY STATED THAT USBC WOULD BE WILLING TO HELP FIND TOURNAMENT SITES AND ASKED THAT A BID PACKAGE BE SENT TO USBC

IT WAS DISCUSSED THAT FOR NOW ALL USBC ELIGIBILITY DATES MUST BE FOLLOWED

JJ STATED THAT THE PRESEASON POLL WOULD BE OUT THE LAST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER

MIKE WAS GOING TO LOOK INTO WAYS THAT WE COULD ACCEPT CREDIT CARD PAYMENT FOR OUR COACHES DUES

CHARLES CAIN BROUGHT A MOTION FOR ADJOURNMENT, SECONDED BY DEL WARREN, ALL WERE IN FAVOR
